FOMEKK

FOMEKK

2001 - 2005

FOMEKK was an interdisciplinary team made up of architects and civil engineers. Our group was registered as an externally funded project by Professors Rainer Gumpp / Faculty of Architecture, Chair of Design + Structural Design and Jürgen Ruth / Faculty of Civil Engineering, Chair of Solid Construction II and the substitute chair of the Faculty of Architecture and Structural Design at the federal state of Thuringia. We were active rom mid-2001 to the end of 2005 at the Bauhaus University in Weimar.

The aim of our work was to research the appropriate use of FRP as a load-bearing, form- and space-creating design material in building construction. We were developing design and construction methods, which optimally utilize the potential of FRP and enable individual modules to be connected appropriately.
