XXXX Pavillon

Elke Genzel supported the design and implementation of the mobile exhibition pavilion "XXXX", which was developed and realized by students of the Bauhaus University Weimar for the Chair for Design and Structural Engineering (Prof. Gumpp), by developing a structural concept and doing the respective calculations.

The core concepts of this project is based was to develop a shell that could "grow" or "shrink" as needed. Using a concertina grille, the walls and ceiling of the room can be variably enlarged or minimized. By connecting the enclosing surfaces not only is a two-dimensional, but also a spatial change in size is achieved, which follows mathematical functions.
